Ensuring the supply of car spare parts to 11 markets in South East Europe

Customer:
One of the world’s leading automotive manufacturers. It designs, manufactures and sells a wide range of road vehicles.

Services:
International road transport, cross-docking, domestic distribution, returns management.

THE CHALLENGE

  • Distribution network fit for bare parts and palletized spare parts

  • Loading with a standby trailer to support the customer’s warehouse activity due to limited operational space

  • Traceability at each stage of the journey (collection, cross-docking, final delivery) for EU and non-EU countries

  • Fully variable cost from supply warehouse to final deliveries

  • Request for an alternative green solution

CAT APPROACH

We have created a new transport plan for distribution in 11 countries (RO, BG, HR, SI, XS, XK, AL, BH, ME, MK, MD):

  • Setting up a collection transport service with its own LNG (liquefied natural gas) trucks and mega-trailers

  • Using our existing multi-customer LTL network in South East Europe, we were able to improve the existing service level for the customer and offer a variable rate structure.

  • Night deliveries implemented where possible

The customer has full visibility of the colli being delivered.
